Built on faith, family and coffee

Carla and her husband Ruma have called the Richmond–Rosenberg area home since 2008, raising their three kids here. While Carla worked in healthcare and Ruma drove trucks, they held on to one shared dream: a family business built on hospitality and real connection.

It started with a gift. Carla's dear friend Elena gave her a coffee kit and an apron, and that passion grew into Finca Santa Elena, a family farm in the Honduran highlands. In 2024 the family started its first coffee business, and Calena Coffee soon followed, bringing the coffee traditions of Honduras to the community that made them family.
